Getting lost in Venice should be on the must-do list of visitors to this fascinating ‘City of Water’. Visual delights await those who wander around the meandering interior alleyways and canal walkways (fondamenta), explore the intersecting small piazzas (campiello), look up to the lop-sided yet seemingly very much in place windows that dot the wonky facades of the rows of houses, chance upon intriguing juliet balconies and discover over 400 footbridges connecting the alleyways which crosses over 150 canals.
